The Office of the Ombud for Financial Services Providers (FAIS Ombud) was established under the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002, with the aim of handling complaints fairly, informal, economical, and expeditious. The FAIS Ombud offices are located in Gauteng, east of Pretoria. To fulfill its mandate, the FAIS Ombud is seeking to appoint Graduate Trainees as part of the Graduate Training Programme. The programme, which lasts for twelve months, offers benefits such as exposure to working in a target-driven environment, working with experienced lawyers, financial planners, investigators, and negotiators, and being part of an established statutory office and a Mentorship Programme. Requirements include a Diploma or Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science, a valid South African Identity document, a passion for public service, strong academic background, strong integrity, ability to work in a stressful environment, and computer literacy. Key performance areas include IT Security, Risks and Continuity Management, IT Service Management, IT Infrastructure, Operations and Applications Management, Project Management, Business Analysis, Change Management Processes, Network and Computer systems, and ICT Governance.
